The Kosovo police have announced that one of the attackers in Banjska i Zveçani has been killed.
Through a press release issued to the media, the Police said that the situation in the north of the country continues to be tense.
"Criminal groups from time to time are attacking with firearms police units in the field, which, despite the attacks on them, are continuing their commitment by creating a security perimeter, in the interest of calming the situation, providing security and the rule of law and order in Kosovo ", it is stated in the announcement of the Police.
According to the Police, a significant number of professional attackers, masked and uniformed, armed with heavy weapons, grenades, military equipment (zolla), some armored vehicles, are using various private spaces and objects, including in and around monastery in Banjska, to carry out movement, sheltering and positioning for shooting at KP police units.
For security reasons, the Police has closed two border crossings in the north - Jarinjë and Bërnjak - for border traffic.
