The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in a press conference on Friday, was asked why the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, is not signing the basic agreement for the normalization of relations between the two countries.
Kurti told reporters that Vučić accepted this agreement and the implementing annex in order not to sign them, while now, according to him, he has regretted it.
" The President of Serbia is not signing because he said yes to the basic agreement and the implementing annex not to sign and now it seems that he has regretted saying 'yes'. It is not by chance that I have begun to repeat more and more often that verse that accepts the agreement in concept, but not in content and on the other hand, implementation in a limited way", declared the head of the Kosovar executive.
He further said that this is a direct attack on the agreements reached in Brussels and Ohrid, which are also part of the conclusions of the European Union, namely the European Council.
" As if this was not enough, they always insist that they will send additional letters that practically attack the basic agreement and the implementing annex. Last night we learned that the Serbian president threatens and fulfills those threats with these letters that say three things: Serbia does not recognize Kosovo's independence, does not accept Kosovo's territorial integrity and is against Kosovo's membership in the United Nations. Such an irresponsible statement that the territorial integrity of Kosovo is unacceptable is an open tendency to attack Kosovo. Before the attack on Ukraine, the Russian Federation said that it does not recognize the territorial integrity of Ukraine. On September 24, Kosovo has experienced a violation of state sovereignty and national security ", said the Prime Minister, among other things.
