The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held a media conference this afternoon, where he gave details about yesterday's meetings in Brussels. He said that Serbia again refused to sign the agreement, including the Association draft.
During his speech, he stated that the American-European emissaries have assured him that the draft of the Association has been carefully written with respect to the structure of the Constitution of Kosovo.
Furthermore, he added that the draft of the Association, presented by the Western diplomats, would be immediately checked by the Constitutional Court to evaluate the constitutionality if the agreement was signed yesterday in Brussels.
" On October 21, we were told by the American-European emissaries that the draft for self-management was written with care to the letter and structure of the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Kosovo and that if it were to be signed there, it was foreseen that the Constitutional Court would check it immediately, so that The constitutionalist should give her assessment of the constitutionality of this proposal as an answer ," Kurti said.
The head of the government of Kosovo stated that in a meeting with European leaders, he demanded Serbia's punishment for the September 24 attack in Banjska, while adding that he also demanded the extradition of terrorists to Kosovo so that they face justice.
While commenting on the statements of the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, that he does not accept the independence of Kosovo, opposes the admission to the UN and does not accept the territorial integrity of Kosovo, Kurti described them as a direct threat from Serbia and a violation of agreements.
" Last night we found out that the president of Serbia threatens and fulfills those threats with these letters that say three things. Serbia does not recognize Kosovo, is against Kosovo's membership in the United Nations and does not accept Kosovo's territorial integrity, this third is an addition to the first two we heard earlier.
Such an irresponsible statement, that the territorial integrity of Kosovo is unacceptable to us, is clearly a tendency to attack Kosovo. On September 24, Kosovo experienced a violation of territorial integrity, state sovereignty and national security. Instead of having Radoicic's group extradited, we have such threats from Brussels of the president of Serbia for the territorial integrity of Kosovo. With those statements, the basic agreement and the Ohrid agreement have been violated, where it is stated in the third paragraph about territorial integrity, quoting "aware of the inviolability of borders and respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty and the recognition of national minorities as a basic condition for peace". . Yesterday's statement is a violation of the third point ," he said.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Kurti refused to give details about the new European plan, clarifying that this was requested by the emissaries.
" We respect the request of the five emissaries, until we are asked not to talk specifically about it. But the most important thing is that the emissaries have stated that they wrote it carefully considering the Constitution and the law and that the answer to any dilemma will always be given by the Constitutional Court ", concluded Kurti.
As for the measures towards Kosovo, Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi has said that there is an informal agreement in the EU that they are unfair towards Kosovo.
