European presidents and prime ministers have expressed regret for the lack of implementation of the Agreement reached in February between Kosovo and Serbia for the normalization of relations.

The European Commission has officially reacted today regarding the talks yesterday in Brussels between Albin Kurti and Aleksandër Vucic with EU leaders.

They have strongly condemned the violent attack on the Kosovo Police, which happened in Banjska of Zveçan, on September 24.

According to the EC, the European Union expects the perpetrators to be arrested and quickly brought to justice and Serbia to cooperate fully, and take all the necessary steps in this direction".

At the end of the two-day meeting, held in Brussels, EU leaders have expressed their deep concern about the security situation in the north of Kosovo.

Kosovo and Serbia have been asked to continue efforts to reduce tensions and to ensure that new elections are held as soon as possible in the north of Kosovo, with the active participation of Kosovo Serbs.

"Failure to reduce tensions will have consequences", stated Meloni, Scholz and Macron.

European presidents and prime ministers have expressed regret for the lack of implementation of the Agreement reached in February between Kosovo and Serbia for the normalization of relations.

The EU has called for the two countries to implement all preliminary agreements, without delays and without preconditions, including the formation of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo.

"The normalization of relations is an essential condition in the European path of both parties, and both risk losing important opportunities in the absence of progress", it is further stated.

On Thursday, the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, were received in separate meetings by the leaders of Germany, France, Italy, as well as by the head of the EU's foreign policy, Josep Borrell, and the EU's special representative in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak.
