The detention of three Kosovo police officers by Serbian forces has reignited the Pristina-Belgrade tensions. Prishtina claims that the Serbs have entered the territory of Kosovo and forcibly kidnapped 3 border police officers.
Prime Minister Kurti himself, in a statement to the media, has condemned this action, saying that Serbia is trying to incite destabilization.
According to Kurti, the Kosovar operatives were 300 meters inside the territory of Kosovo, while the Serbian forces were the ones who entered the Kosovar territory illegally and kidnapped the three policemen. He demanded the release of 3 policemen and the punishment of the act by the international factor.
" Three Kosovo police officials were kidnapped today in Leposaviq in the place where there used to be an illegal smuggling route, which is located about 300 meters inside the territory of our state.
We suspect that they were kidnapped by the Serbian army, clearly as a revenge of Serbia for yesterday's arrest of the notorious criminal Millun Millenkovic - Lune, who represents one of the leaders of organized crime and smuggling.
The Kosovo Police have shown themselves to be very restrained in recent weeks. The entry of Serbian forces into the territory of Kosovo is aggression and an aim for escalation and destabilization.
We demand the immediate release of the three abducted police officers and invite international factors to condemn this act of aggression by Serbia ", says Kurti's reaction.
On the other hand, it is learned that Kosovo has decided to block Serbian goods. After the kidnapping of 3 policemen, the government has decided not to allow any goods produced in Serbia to enter its territory. If we go back in time, Ramush Haradinaj also took such a measure when he was prime minister, seeking reciprocity. Apparently, Kurti has returned it, as a sign of revenge against Belgrade's action. / Pamphlet
