Kosovo has received strong new support from its main ally, the United States. On Friday, a ceremony was held to hand over 50 armored vehicles to the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), an investment that is expected to significantly increase the country's defense capabilities.
The US Embassy in Pristina has announced that this transfer is an important step in the strategic cooperation between the two countries. “Kosovo, using its defense resources, will bring these vehicles to full operational capacity, marking another step in our joint commitment to strengthening the defense capacity of the Kosovo Security Force and strengthening the security of both our nations,” the official statement said.
Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, also described this as an important development for the KSF. “This commitment to transforming into a powerful and professional Force would not have been possible without the support of a strategic and irreplaceable partner — the United States of America, our eternal friend,” he wrote.
This new supply comes at a time when the KSF is advancing towards NATO standards, increasing its capabilities to fulfill its constitutional mission of defending the country and regional stability.
