The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has reacted after the action of the Kosovo Police in Zveçan where they raided a weapons warehouse. Members of KFOR were also present during the action.
Through a post on the 'X' platform, Kurti said that the weapons were intended to be distributed to violent gangs in that part of Kosovo.
” Another win for RoL. Police and KFOR raided a weapons depot in Zveçan used to smuggle weapons into Kosovo for distribution to violent gangs. Military-type weapons such as automatic rifles, hand grenades and explosives were confiscated ," Kurti wrote on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, earlier, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xelal Sveçla, had also reacted to this issue, who had given details about the action.
" So far, a large amount of weaponry has been discovered, including automatic weapons, cartridges, hand grenades and explosives. In addition to the security institutions, KFOR representatives were also present at the scene. The North is moving towards normality step by step. Law and order will not be violated in any corner of the Republic ", Sveçla wrote, among other things, on Tuesday.
In recent months, there have been tensions in the North of Kosovo, although according to the international community, there is still no full escalation of the situation. The Government of Kosovo says that law and order is being extended in that part of the country.
