The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has spoken about Albania-Kosovo relations.
In an interview for the Greek newspaper "To Vima", Kurti was asked if he supports the union of Kosovo with Albania. He responded by saying that Kosovo and Albania are one nation and two states while adding that relations with Albania are excellent.
Kurti also said that the accusations against him regarding the unification of the two states came from the Serbs because they want Bosnia to join Serbia, Greek media reported.
"Albanians in Kosovo constitute 93%. We are one nation but two states. I won power in February 2021 promising jobs and justice and these remain my priority. We have excellent relations with Albania. I think most of the accusations against me, regarding the unification, come from the Serbs, because they want Republika Srpska (Bosnia) to join Serbia. They have invented the so-called 'Serbian World' as a euphemism for Greater Serbia," said Kurti.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo was also asked if he wants union with Albania, but Kurti said that at the moment the Constitution of Kosovo does not allow such a thing and that the Government of Kosovo is focused on the protection of the country, territorial integrity and sovereignty.
"At the moment, the Constitution of Kosovo does not allow this and we are focused on the protection of our country, its territorial integrity and sovereignty. But I repeat that we have excellent relations with Albania and although we are one nation, we are two different states" , concluded Albin Kurti.
