"The Yellow House never existed", Kurti demands Special Court for
Albin Kurti

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called for the establishment of a special international court to investigate and try the killing of Bosniak civilians by snipers during the siege of Sarajevo in the early 1990s, an episode known as the "Sarajevo Safari".

Speaking at the second international scientific conference of the Institute of War Crimes in Kosovo, Kurti stated that there is more and more information and facts on this issue and added that, according to allegations, the current President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, also played a role in this scheme. According to him, for a certain amount of money, Bosnian civilians could be shot from the hills around Sarajevo in the besieged city.

" A special international court should be engaged to investigate and try the crimes of the 'Sarajevo Safari' ," Kurti declared.

In the same speech, he rejected claims about the existence of the so-called “Yellow House” in Albania as a place for organ trafficking by KLA members. According to Kurti, this thesis “has never existed” and is part of a hybrid narrative of Serbia against the KLA and Albania. He said that this issue was initiated by Russian MP Konstantin Kosachev in April 2008, shortly after Kosovo’s declaration of independence.

"The so-called yellow house in Albania has never existed as a place for organ trafficking by KLA members, but is part of Serbia's hybrid narrative against the KLA and Albania. It was initiated by Russian MP Konstantin Kosachev on April 15, 2008, not even two months after Kosovo's declaration of independence. There is no yellow house, but there is more and more information and facts that there was a 'Sarajevo safari', in which the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, is said to have played a role. For a small amount of money, Bosnian civilians could be shot with a sniper from the hills around Sarajevo in the besieged city in the early 1990s. A special international court would have to be engaged to investigate and try the crimes of the 'Sarajevo safari' ," he said.

Kurti also spoke about the trial of former KLA leaders in The Hague, emphasizing that the KLA's war was "just and necessary for freedom and survival." According to him, this process cannot question the liberating character of the war and Kosovo's aspiration for freedom and equality.

Kurti's statements are expected to provoke reactions in Belgrade, at a time when relations between Kosovo and Serbia remain tense.
