What happened on Sunday near the Banjska monastery revealed many things, but above all the fact that the deputy chairman of the Serbian List, Milan Radoicic, who is on the blacklist of the USA and Great Britain due to suspicions of involvement in crime and in the murder of Oliver Ivanović, he is seen as a hero for Kosovo Serbs.
In the armed clashes that started early Sunday morning in Banjska, for now we know that four people have lost their lives. A policeman from Kosovo and three Serbs. The vice president of the Serbian List, Milan Radoiçiç, can also be seen in the video that Minister Sveçla has published on social networks.
Scandal with tributes
On Tuesday evening, citizens lit candles and paid tribute to the dead in Serb-majority municipalities. The same thing happened in Belgrade, in front of the Saint Sava temple.
What Serbs think about Kosovo is best illustrated by the words of lawyer and activist Marko Jakšič, former advisor of GI SDP led by the murdered Oliver Ivanović.
"Many things from yesterday are still unclear to me and may never be clarified. But all those guys who died yesterday are my brothers and heroes. All of them!!! We will never make up for their loss and I can only imagine what it's like for the families. We owe it to them that their sacrifice is not in vain! Eternal glory to you brave", wrote Jakšič on Twitter a day after the terrible events in Banjska.
Perhaps the same attitude is shared by all those who lit candles on Tuesday evening.
But how did Milan Radoicic become a hero for Serbs in Kosovo?
"I'm back and you know what that means." This is what Radoicic declared in July of last year through a video:
“Terrori i vërtetë kundër popullit tonë serb sapo ka filluar. Për popullin tim në veri dhe për të gjithë serbët, më lejoni t'u them vetëm, dhe të tjerëve, unë jam këtu, jam kthyer, dhe ju e dini se çfarë do të thotë kjo, sepse nga këtu nuk ka kthim. Rroftë Serbia”, shprehej ai.
Ndoshta ka të bëjë me të deklaratat e presidentit serb Aleksandar Vuçiç nga viti 2017 (para se ta bindte opinionin se nuk e njihte Radoiçiçin) dhe kur e cilësoi si një nga “gardianët e Serbisë në Kosovë e Metohi”.
“Faleminderit që e keni mbrojtur Serbinë në Kosovë dhe Metohi, sepse ata dhe fëmijët e tyre po e mbrojnë atë. Dhe Rakiçit, Jeftiçit dhe secilit prej tyre. Edhe Radoiçiç edhe Stojanoviç. E të Kostiçit dhe nuk e di kujt tjetër”, ka thënë atëherë Vuçiç.
Ka shumë gjasa që kjo të ketë të bëjë me faktin se serbët në Kosovë, duke u larguar nga policia, si dhe të gjitha institucionet e tjera të Kosovës, kanë mbetur krejtësisht të pambrojtur.
Nuk është e lehtë të shkruash se si jetojnë ata, sidomos jo nga Beogradi. Kur nuk e ke ndjerë në lëkurë atë që jetojnë çdo ditë serbët që jetojnë atje. Dhe kjo është kryesisht frika.
Mirëpo, tani kemi një krizë shumë më të madhe pas të shtënave në afërsi të manastirit të Banjskës, në të cilin, siç pohon ministri i Policisë së Kosovës, ka qenë i përfshirë edhe Milan Radoiçiç. Por kush është në të vërtetë Radoiçiç?
Në publikun serb më së shpeshti për të shkruhet si një biznesmen kontrovers. Megjithatë, ai së bashku me Zvonko Veselinoviçin janë sanksionuar nga SHBA-së që nga dhjetori i vitit 2021. Në sqarimin e Thesarit të SHBA-së, thuhej se Zvonko Veselinoviç “është lider i Grupit të Krimit të Organizuar dhe është një nga figurat e korruptuara më famëkeqe në Kosovë”. Siç thuhet, grupi i Veselinoviçit "është i përfshirë në një skemë të gjerë ryshfeti me zyrtarë të sigurisë së Kosovës dhe Serbisë që i mundëson grupit të tregtojë ilegalisht mallra, para, narkotikë dhe armë ndërmjet Kosovës dhe Serbisë". Shtohet se Veselinoviçi dhe grupi i tij akuzohen për përfshirjen e tyre të dyshuar në vrasjen e liderit të partisë politike Oliver Ivanoviç në janar 2018.
A year later, in December 2022, Radoicic was blacklisted in Great Britain. As they stated, he "profited from embezzling government contracts and used his influence to award lucrative contracts to his construction companies."
Perhaps this text should be concluded with the words of the late Oliver Ivanović, from an interview with BIRN that was published posthumously, in which he expressed his concern about President Vučić's mention of Radočić as Serbia's guardian.
