The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said that the tense situation in the north of the country is the result of "armed groups, which pretend to be protesters, but in fact are criminal gangs" of Serbia.
Kurti said that the Kosovo police will withdraw only when the criminal gangs leave.
"Of course, I can imagine the reduction of the presence of the Kosovo Police in the municipal buildings in the north, when these criminal gangs of nationalism and extreme right-wing chauvinism, which worship Milosevic and Putin, leave," Kurti said in an address. for journalists
Either let them go to Serbia, or we have to take them to prison. However, there is no way that we will not protect the assets and buildings of the Republic from such gangs. When they leave or close, we will be able to reduce the presence", said Kurti.
Kurti said that the presidents elected there are legal and must exercise their mandate based on their competences.
"I believe that the elected presidents, although the turnout was low, are legal presidents who have legitimacy, albeit incomplete, due to Serbia's pressure. Now those candidates who competed and won must do the work, and I believe that the mayor's workplace should be in the public building of the municipality, because the public building of the municipality is the building of the republic.
There are emergency situations such as the one with the pandemic, when we have not been to workplaces either, but the mayor's workplace is in that building and I believe that it is good for everyone to be there. However, it is the mayor who received the votes of the citizens, of course he is the mayor, and they make the decisions for which the mayors judge.
When these presidents entered the office, those offices were empty. In addition to abandoning elections and buildings, they are responsible for the situation, not those of us who want to work and participate in elections. Those who participate democratically cannot be held responsible. But those who boycott and commit violence.
I believe that the mayors should be in the offices of the mayors, there is no need for parallelism. What is the meaning of having public buildings for state officials if they are not used", he told reporters.
Regarding the relations with the USA, Kurti said that they are excellent, but there are cases when they differ in approach, which according to him is not essential.
