The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, stated today that the visit of Prime Minister Albin Kurti to North Macedonia last Friday was misunderstood.
According to her, the display of the flag with "Ethnic Albania" among Kurt's supporters in Tetovo is simply a citizen's movement and not something organized.
At the media conference held on the occasion of the visit to the Municipality of Dragash, Osmani said that North Macedonia is one of the most precious neighbors of Kosovo.
"A citizen's movement and not something organized... In gatherings, no one from the organizers checks every citizen what he has in hand, but this is as a principle. Of course, if the institutions of North Macedonia have any concerns, our only request as institutions of the Republic of Kosovo is that everything be done in accordance with the highest international standards of human rights protection, the highest international standards of the protection of non-majority communities, and always respecting the state-forming role that the Albanian community had in building the state of North Macedonia and continues to play this extraordinary role today, and the institutions of North Macedonia know this...
