Today at the Basic Court in Pristina, in the trial of Naim Murseli, who is accused of murdering his wife Liridona Ademaj, the deceased's brother, Leonard Ademaj, testifies.
During his testimony, Ademaj explained how he understood his sister's murder.
He said that he and his parents received official confirmation of the murder at the Pristina Police Station. He said that they were seen with the accused at the police station.
"I said where the children and Naimi are. They told me they are inside... When I asked where Naimi is, they told me he is giving a statement. After 1 hour Naimi left the police station, we had taken the children in the car, when Naimi left the police station, Kushtrim Kokalla was also present...," Ademaj said.
He told what Mursel had said to him that night.
"After we had gone 4-5 meters, I heard a crash, but I continued to run away with the children. A car came towards us and wanted to run over us and the children. I asked for help, but they did not give me any help. I went to the market and there I told the market owner, can you take care of my children because they killed my wife. But the owner did not allow me, he told me to stay here and wait for the police. Since it was night, we took the children and sent them home," Ademaj said.
He said that the next day around 11 am, he tried to contact Murslein, as he did not know where he was.
"I called Valon Lluka, and he told me to get the number of the driver Naimi is with and contact him. After I called the driver, he told me that he was in Switzerland. When we went to Switzerland, they told us that Naimi was in a room upstairs. When we went to the room, he was lying down, there were some food items on the table, and he had also ordered lunch. Out of surprise, we thought he was scared. I asked Naimi if we could go to the morgue to see Liridona, he said no, we are not allowed. Then I called the hospital and told them that I am Liridona Ademaj's brother and could I come and see the body, they said yes. Naimi and his driver came with me. When we went there, the doctor told us that if you have a problem, don't come. Naimi at that moment said, I have a heart problem and I don't know if I can handle it. The uncle's son insisted that Naimi come and see me. He came to the door, only "He looked at it from the door, but he didn't go inside," Ademaj said.
Before the start of the hearing, Murseli's lawyer, Shemsedin Piraj, requested the court to consult with the defendant regarding the judicial review. This request was approved by the Court.
In the initial hearing, but also in the first hearing of the trial, Murseli pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife.
According to the indictment, Murseli is suspected of having organized the murder of his wife for revenge and to financially benefit from a life insurance policy in Sweden, worth around 260 thousand euros. According to the prosecution, he planned the murder together with Kushtrim Kokalla and Granit Plava, to whom he promised a sum of 30 thousand euros for committing the crime.
Liridona Ademaj was murdered on the evening of November 29, 2023, on "Dalip Alshiqi" Street in Pristina. Initially, it was reported that it was a robbery, but then the Prosecution announced that it was a staged robbery.
