The lawyer of the family of Lulzim Fejzullah who was beaten to death by two teenagers, Tom Gashi, demands maximum punishment for the perpetrators.
Gashi called the killing of the 18-year-old a serious crime against a completely innocent person.
"He died on January 14. A statement was given by the police that did not match at all, it said that he had been stabbed, but death was caused by blunt force trauma. We cannot know the concrete causes, but it seems to have been a completely banal fight at a barber's about who will be the first to be shaved. It seems that everyone who has known Lulzim has only good words. He was a wise boy and what makes the situation more difficult, he was an orphan. His parents are dead.
The attackers first hit him with a car and then used metal rods. It is a serious, unprovoked crime. The arrogance of these attackers has brought about that situation. One of them also had a criminal record," said the lawyer in an interview for the show "Breaking".
Remembering the planned murder by Liridona Ademaj's husband, Gashi calls for toughening of the law.
"Not even two months have passed since the sad case of Liridona, planned by her husband. Imagine murder for hire and may receive an improper sentence. The sentences given by our courts are not in proportion to the gravity of the crime.
The punishment policy must change, we must not let someone kill several people, but the first moment someone commits such a serious criminal offense, there should be the possibility of capital punishment. For certain criminal offenses, in the USA, if you commit them three times, you are guaranteed to remain in prison forever".
According to the lawyer, the fear of maximum penalties can stop individuals from committing such crimes, taking human lives.
