
The KFOR mission is ready to respond to any threat, said the commander of the NATO mission in Kosovo, Ozkan Ulutas.
In a statement to the Turkish news agency Anadolu, Ulutas said that KFOR will continue to provide a safe environment for all people living in Kosovo.
" KFOR has provided a safe environment for all communities in Kosovo for about 25 years. We will continue this in 2024. We will continue our efforts to prevent tensions from escalating and I want to assure that we are ready to respond to any threat ", Ozkan said.
Ulutas said that NATO supports the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, while he reiterated that the only way forward is peace and stability for the people living in Kosovo.
The Turkish commander emphasized that KFOR will continue its mission in Kosovo as long as it is needed.
After the tensions at the end of the year, Ulutas said that KFOR has quadrupled the personnel in the north and tripled the patrols.
The mission in Kosovo consists of more than 4500 people from 27 countries. Turkey took command on October 9, for the first time.
