Professor Fetah Bahtiri, who has lived for over 30 years in Udevalla, Sweden, in the city where Liridona Ademaj lived, says that the Albanians there are very shocked by the loss of Liridona. According to him, the Swedish state will take her children very soon.
Hundreds of Albanians and Swedes in Udevalla, Sweden, where Liridona Ademaj lived, paid tribute to Liridona. In front of the cafeteria where Liridona worked, they placed flowers and many candles, while they also expressed their great pain for her family in Kosovo.
Professor Fetah Bahtiri, who has been living in that city for over 30 years, says that they are deeply shocked by Liridona's murder.
" The murder of Liridona was very terrible for all of us Albanians who live here. The owner of the cafe where Liridona Ademaj worked, Baki Shahini, has organized a moment of memory there, which here in Sweden is called the "Moment of Memory", and many Albanians have gathered there to remember Liridona. There were also many Swedes who joined in this tribute to us. There was also MP Jakobson, who expressed his condolences to me and he was also deeply moved, because everyone knew Liridona. There is not a single one who could have known any bad word from her… the many flowers and candles are lit all night long there ,” he said.
As for the treatment of the children of Liridona, who are only 6 and 5 years old, Professor Bahtiri says that the Swedish state will take them very soon. Professor Fetah Bahtiri, is well versed in the laws in Sweden, has been an official translator for many years in Sweden.
" In this case, those children should be returned to Sweden without delay. I was an authorized translator and had a lot of experience with such situations. These children are not allowed in the environment where their mother's misfortune happened. Returning to the Murseli family is a buried matter, they don't leave them there anymore. After an investigation of the circumstances, the Swedish social service makes a decision on where to place them. I don't put them in an institution, but I put them in a family. The state pays that family to take care of them. That family can be Swedish, it can be Albanian, but that family must be clean in all aspects", he emphasized.
Placing in a new Swedish family can lead to the children forgetting the Albanian language altogether. While the last name can also be changed.
" Their grandparents can visit, if the social service allows them. Even their name and surname can be changed, if they grow up in a Swedish family, because there have been several cases, right here in Udevalla, and there have even been cases among Albanians" , says Professor Bahtiri.
Liridona Ademaj was killed on November 29, under unknown circumstances. For this case, three suspects have been arrested and are already in custody for a month, and the main suspect is her brother-in-law Naim Murseli.
