
After the murder of Liridona Ademaj, the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action will hold a nationwide protest today with the motto "there is no peace without the safety of women".
The protest starts at 18:00, in "Zahir Pajaziti" square, in Pristina.
"We call for organization and action all across Kosovo to gather and say unanimously that there is no peace without the safety of women and to demand that gender-based violence and femicide be treated as a national emergency," the announcement states .
The Basic Court in Pristina on Sunday, December 3, has decided one month of detention for Liridona's spouse and two others.
According to the communiqué, the judge of the Preliminary Procedure assessed that there is a well-founded suspicion that the defendants have committed criminal offenses, the same may affect the co-defendant, the injured party and the witnesses, as well as the risk of repeating the criminal offenses, in particular the weight of gravity of the criminal offense, and all of them together have fulfilled the legal basis for imposing this measure against the defendants, therefore the court has approved as grounded the request of the Basic Prosecution in Pristina, for setting the measure of detention against the defendants NM, GP and KK and the same has been assigned the measure of detention for a duration of one month, for each.
