Elections/ Serbia attempts to insert election materials to influence the outcome

In addition to pressure on citizens of the Serbian community in Kosovo, Serbia has continued its attempts to interfere in today's local elections in other ways.

Gazeta Express reports that at the border crossing in Brnjak and Jarninje, the Kosovo Police have seized several materials, ballot papers with which the Serbian state has planned to manipulate the electoral process in municipalities where the "Lista Srpska" feels most threatened by its opponents, such as the municipality of Zubin Potok, where Stevan Vulovic and the entity "Kosovski Savez" are competing with the candidate of the Lista Srpska.

According to sources, it is known that the ballots were planned to be first brought into Kosovo, and then thrown into the ballot boxes. Earlier it was reported that Serbia was exerting pressure on Kosovo Serb voters. For this, the Serbian state has also engaged former police officers who resigned from their duties in 2022.

The Central Election Commission reports that the voting process is taking place peacefully and without obstacles.

"So far, no irregularities have been identified that would affect the integrity or overall course of the elections. The CEC remains in constant communication with the electoral bodies in various municipalities and institutions, in order to guarantee the full implementation of the law and electoral rules at every step of the process,"  the CEC announced.

As of 5:00 p.m., 32.55% of voters have voted. Voting closes at 7:00 p.m.
