OpenAI has announced that it is introducing a new app, Sora, for sharing short videos.
The only 'trick' is that everything will be generated with Artificial Intelligence, so you won't see a real person showing what they bought, how they're dressing, what they think of Taylor Swift's new album, or dancing on a subway.
Users can upload their own photo to appear in these videos. Sure, this can be fun if you want to see yourself doing something unimaginable, but it also has a dark side.
An OpenAI employee demonstrated this by sharing an AI-generated video of the company's CEO, Sam Altman, shoplifting, which turned out to be the most viewed video.
But it's not just Sam Altman who thinks there's a market for AI creations, although others say fake content is leading us towards a dead internet.
Meta introduced a few days ago an AI-powered social video platform called Vibes where videos can also be reposted on Instagram and Facebook.
Essentially, we will all see more AI-generated videos that will go viral.
