Diddy could be sentenced to 1-3 years in prison and his lawyer could ask the judge to serve the sentence at home.
Marc Agnifilo, the rapper's legal team leader, told TMZ that he needs and wants to undergo therapy for anger and substance abuse issues, adding that prisons are not equipped to provide adequate help in these areas.
Asked if he would ask the judge to have the rapper serve his sentence at home, he said that it is a possibility.
He further continued that he is now assembling an "outside" team to provide Diddy with the help he needs and added that he would make therapy a condition for "probation."
Diddy has told his lawyer that he is aware that he needs therapy and has been living with “deficiencies.” Agnifilo said Diddy has vowed to use his time in prison to address these issues.
The lawyer also clarified a statement given to CBS News that his client could celebrate his release from prison with a return to the stage. He said Diddy has important personal issues.
According to him, the legal team's main priority is to ensure the rapper receives a fair sentence so that he can repay the damage to society as quickly as possible and when he is released, he will not be focused on music.
Agnifilo says Diddy will spend time with his family and loved ones, namely his seven children and mother who have supported him throughout the legal battle.
When he feels they are at a good moment, he will do something special, perhaps a concert at Madison Square Garden, although that is not certain.
