The "divorce" between the Duke of Sussex and Spotify was announced in a joint official statement just a few days ago. And now it is said that Prince Harry - before the $15 million contract signed at the end of 2020 fell through - wanted a podcast in which he intended to interview figures such as Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Mark Zuckerberg, about the education of their and childhood traumas.
If that wasn't enough, the prince has been considering another religious-themed podcast and even considered Pope Francis among his guests.
Bloomberg says Harry revealed his plans to Spotify executives, no doubt leaving them stunned. "Harry's ideas seemed unimaginable to everyone. As well as completely unrealistic: Let alone if the likes of Putin and Zuckerberg were to give interviews about their upbringing and their childhood traumas," writes journalist Ashley Carman.
The split between the Dukes of Sussex and Spotify was mutually agreed upon, following the podcast they created together (Meghan Markle's Archetypes podcast). But then Bill Simmons, Spotify's manager, publicly attacked the Dukes, calling them "fraudsters": "Fraudsters, this is the podcast we should have started with them." I need to get drunk one night to tell the story of the Zoom conversation I once had with Prince Harry to help him develop a podcast idea. It's one of my best stories."
As if that wasn't enough, another accusation was leveled at Meghan: she allegedly duped her listeners with fake interviews. It is said that she did not conduct all the interviews herself, but some of them were done with her assistants and then Meghan's voice was added to them.
