A woman has been charged with murder in Texas after she shot an Uber driver because she thought he was kidnapping her.
According to the police, the incident happened in the border area of El Paso, when Phoebe Copas thought that the driver she had arranged was taking her against her will in the direction of Mexico.
She immediately took out her pistol and shot him, as 52-year-old Daniel Piedra Garcia died in the hospital as a result of his injuries.
The woman was traveling from Kentucky to Texas to meet her boyfriend, but saw a sign that read Juarez along the way and thought the driver had changed his destination.
She immediately took the gun from her bag and shot the driver, as the police clarified that the victim had no similar intention.
