A South Carolina pastor and his wife have been arrested after serious allegations were made by their adopted children, who claim they were victims of abuse for decades.
They are Myron Chorbajian, 73, a pastor at a church in Greenville, and his wife Kathleen Chorbajian, 71. The couple were arrested in May 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee, while attending an event. After a months-long process, they were extradited to South Carolina, where they are facing justice.
The complaints were filed in April 2025, while the adopted children stated that the alleged abuses began in the 1980s. According to court documents, Myron Chorbajian faces several charges of violence and other criminal offenses against minors.
Investigators allege he repeatedly abused the children, including extreme punishment. According to the case file, the minors were forced to scavenge for food in garbage cans and consume spoiled food, as well as sleep in unsuitable conditions inside the house.
One of the most serious charges involves an incident where, according to documents, the pastor shot and killed the family dog and then ordered one of the children to bury the animal.
Meanwhile, Kathleen Chorbajian faces 10 charges related to failure to intervene and prevent alleged abuses over the years.
Authorities say Myron Chorbajian is being held without bail, while his wife is being held on $12,000 bail. The case remains under investigation.
