The next step in the world of Grok is being taken by Elon Musk, who announced that he is developing a competing Wikipedia platform through his artificial intelligence startup xAI, a platform called "Grokipedia."
Musk said the new service will be a "massive improvement" to the famous online encyclopedia, whose entries are created and edited by volunteers.
The billionaire has long accused Wikipedia of political bias, claiming it reflects left-wing views.
Shortly before Musk's announcement, an ally of his, David Zacks, who was recently appointed by President Donald Trump as his administration's commissioner for artificial intelligence, had criticized the use of Wikipedia content to train artificial intelligence software.
The name Grokipedia comes from the xAI chatbot, Grok, which Musk has said "seeks the truth to the fullest extent."
But Grok has been criticized in recent months for making anti-Semitic comments that Musk's company attributed to faulty programming.
