Beyoncé and Jay-Z are reportedly planning to build a grand new mansion in England. According to sources at the Daily Mail, the superstars are in the process of purchasing an £8m property in the picturesque village of Wigginton, in Oxfordshire, just steps from the luxury Soho Farmhouse resort, favoured by the likes of David and Victoria Beckham.
While the surrounding area has become increasingly popular with the rich and famous seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of London, the land the couple is said to have chosen has one major drawback: the risk of flooding.
Local residents, who are already aware of the couple's interest, have nicknamed the area "the danger zone" because of its tendency to flood after heavy rainfall.
Despite this, it appears that the plans are in advanced stages. According to local community sources, “it is rumored that everything has been signed and the money has been deposited.” A news that has sparked not only the curiosity of residents, but also speculation about the impact that such an investment could have on the area.
If all goes to plan, it will be another property in the Carter couple's extensive portfolio, known for their residences in Los Angeles, New York and the Hamptons. Apparently, even the English countryside cannot escape the shadow of world stars.
