Renowned singer Afërdita Zonja has recounted special details from her personal and professional life, sharing the history between Albania and the USA, as well as meeting her husband.
Invited to the show E Diell, in the "Gallery" section, she revealed that her love story with her husband Artur Zonja began in high school.
"We were very close friends and we didn't even realize it when we got together," the singer said, adding that they have built a happy life together and are parents of two children.
The artist also shared memories from her childhood in Korça, telling about the sacrifices of her family and the strength of her mother, who raised five children alone. She emphasized that these difficulties made her more conscious and dedicated to her journey.
Afërdita Zonja also spoke about her early beginnings in music, at the age of 15, as well as the fact that she was among the first artists to perform a recital, and later returned as a teacher at the music school where she had studied. Among her first students was Eli Fara.
Regarding life in the US, she said that after the '90s she had traveled frequently for concerts, while the decision to move came later, after she won the American lottery with her family.
"We saw America as a land of opportunity. Initially, we would go back and forth for work, but after we retired we decided to live there," she said, adding that for many Korça residents, the US remains a favorite destination.
