A 32-year-old mother from Russia, Mariana Barutkina, ended up in hospital with a fractured spine after taking part in the viral "Stiletto Challenge" - an absurd trend inspired by Nicki Minaj that requires standing on unstable objects in high heels.
The influencer attempted to stand on a jar of baby food placed on an overturned pot just eight weeks after giving birth. But the crazy challenge to fame ended in a violent fall and serious injuries.
The video went viral in Russia and beyond, sparking strong criticism from the public:
“Irony? Karma? Stupidity and courage,” one commenter wrote.
“Being a mother and not gaining a single bit of wisdom… is scary,” added another.
The diagnosis? A compressed, bent fracture in her spine. Mariana will have to wear a corset for three months and recover carefully.
She herself commented: "I decided to start a blog... and here I am. Irony? Or just life testing you without warning."
This case is a strong warning about the consequences that dangerous viral challenges can bring, especially for new mothers who feel pushed by social media pressure to stand out.
