Diddy's trial is scheduled to begin in May next year, but he is holding out hope for bail. He has hoped that a parole hearing could free him at least for a while.
That hope was dashed last week when prosecutors filed a counterargument in which the federal government alleged Sean Combs had violated prison regulations. They claimed that Diddy had essentially conspired from the inside, making illegal calls and other misdeeds. These claims almost saw Diddy's chance at freedom go to waste, but that may have changed now.
On Tuesday, Diddy got a "win," though it has nothing to do with what he did. A federal judge refused to consider evidence that was seized during a raid on Diddy's jail cell.
Combs' attorney Marc Agnifilo called the initial move "outrageous government behavior," and it appears the judge agreed.
Combs will have his third parole hearing scheduled for this Friday. Whether this "victory" will end in victory in court remains to be seen. But this can only help his case.
