Journalist Mira Kazhani has shared with her followers what she called 'the winter of my life'. Through her podcast, she has made public the fact that she has been 'fighting' breast cancer for a year.
Amidst emotions and tears, Kazhani said that the diagnosis came as a sudden shock on November 2, 2024, describing that day as the "winter of her life."
"I was diagnosed with breast cancer and from that day on, everything changed forever. In the podcasts you only saw half of me, while the rest was a long battle with the disease. At that time, I chose to remain silent, to focus on my recovery and not become news on the network. Today, I feel grateful to my colleagues who learned of my situation and who did not spread the news, bringing peace to me and who did not cause concern to my parents who did not know what their child was going through. Now they know what I had," says the journalist.
She confessed that she found strength by listening to stories of other women who have gone through the same ordeal in hospitals, while emphasizing that despite her cancer being detected early, the disease remains a severe nightmare for every woman. "There is no easy cancer, it is a nightmare. Even when diagnosed in the early stages, it is a great wound in the soul and body," she said.
In her book "Another Day", Kazhani documented the details of this difficult period, sharing not only the pain and fear, but also the hope and courage that accompanied her throughout the journey.
"I've always believed in storytelling. This is the most difficult podcast of my life, so today I sat down opposite a life partner to ask me questions," she added.
