Tory Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.
“Tory spoke for a few minutes. He said he still worries about Megan. He called her 'someone I still care a lot about to this day' despite what she might think of him. He said 'the victim is my friend,'" legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, who was present at the hearing, said on Twitter.
While Megan, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete - did not appear in court to testify.
The incident occurred on July 12, 2020, after Megan, her former best friend Kelsey Harris, Lanez and his security guard left a pool party at Kylie Jenner's Hollywood Hills, California residence.
The musicians argued on the way home and the driver stopped to let Megan out of the car, according to prosecutors.
