Sam Altman returns to head Chat GPT, OpenAI's pro-CEO staff

After the sensational dismissal, Sam Altman is back as CEO of 'OpenAI'. 750 employees have threatened to walk out if the board that oversees the company doesn't put Altman back in charge.

After the workforce 'revolt', the ChatGPT developer said it had reached an agreement in principle to reinstate him at the helm of OpenAI.

Altman was fired on Friday on the grounds that the board no longer had confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI.

Albanian Mira Murati, who was the director of technology at OpenAI, was appointed interim CEO. It was reported that Murat also wanted Altman back. Following her firing, former Twitch CEO Emmett Shear was installed as interim CEO. OpenAI will reportedly conduct an independent investigation into Altman's firing and its aftermath.
