British actress Emily Atack has revealed that she has faced sexual assault throughout her career, including on set and at parties after projects closed.
The star of "Rivals" and "The Inbetweeners" made the confession in an interview with Radio Times, saying that she has not always felt safe at work.
Atack welcomed the increasing use of privacy coordinators, who oversee sensitive scenes on set, calling them a necessary step to protect actors, writes the BBC.
She expressed her desire to make a documentary about this role, following her 2023 program, Emily Atack: Asking For It?, which addressed sexual harassment on social media.
The 35-year-old actress, mother of a young son, said she wants to raise him with healthy values and respect for women.
"I want Barney to know he can talk to me about anything, that's the kind of mother I want to be," she said. Atack, who rose to fame at the age of 17 with her role in "The Inbetweeners," has previously spoken out about the abuse and unwanted attention she experienced early in her career. She will appear in Channel 5's new thriller "The Rumour" this month.
