Stela of 'Përputhen +40' recounts her battle with a serious

Do you remember the former contestant of "Për'puthen +40", Stela Nikolla? The latter was a guest on the show "Ftesë në 5" the day before. She revealed that she has won the battle with breast cancer.

Stela confessed that the most difficult moment was the chemotherapy period, as she did not know what would happen, she did not recognize her body. But she adds that after chemotherapy, something strange happens as every cell is created new.

Nikolla had both breasts removed and revealed that after the surgery she had problems because the prostheses did not fit her body, and she also had bleeding.

"It was impossible. I wanted my breasts, the breasts that fed my daughter, even though they weren't perfect, I'm into those natural things. And I suffered a lot from this and sometimes I feel like it's not part of my body, but these are useless dramatizations, because I achieved what I wanted, I feel like a woman and I feel good," said Stela Nikolla.

Excerpt from the interview:

Bieta: 6 months of chemotherapy

Stela: Then that 1 month recovery seems like a relief. 1 month I had to have the surgery, as we know that chemotherapy has side effects.

Bieta: What happened to you? How did you cope?

Stela: Chemotherapy was for me exactly that hell that you would go through, and you didn't know what would happen, you no longer knew your body, yourself, would I be or not be after that session. But I managed to fight this thing with myself. The first time it was very strange, the second time I knew what would happen, the doctor told me 'don't be scared about this because the body changes completely'. They passed, I knew those 4-5 days of chemotherapy and I would say to my daughter 'what day is it today?', '4th, well 1 more day, let's go'. And indeed, on the 5th and 6th day I would get up, life would begin, recovery, I would go to work, do lessons with the girls, like a normal day. Only those 4 days I couldn't get up, I couldn't overcome that strong side effect that it gave you. After chemotherapy, something very strange happens, every cell is created new. My hair is new, my skin is falling out and a new one is coming out. There's one good thing about this chemotherapy too. Now I feel younger, fresher.

Bieta: You also had the surgery where you had to remove both breasts. I know you were very worried about it. You wanted an operation to remove them and replace them because you couldn't bear to have your body without this feminine element.

Stela: It was impossible, I wanted my breasts, the breasts that fed my daughter, even though they weren't perfect, I'm into those natural things. And I suffered a lot from this and sometimes I feel like it's not part of my body, but these are useless dramatizations, because I achieved what I wanted, I feel female and I feel good. The operation was quite difficult because it was almost 6 hours. There were some problems after the operation, the prostheses didn't agree with my body, there was bleeding, it's a long and difficult ordeal, but it passed. Here I am, there was a period, everyone stayed close to me, I told my mom 'as if I was in a 5-star hotel', they served me, helped me. That month after the operation I was comfortable, they served me, they cooked for me. I tell everyone that everything will pass. There is no doubt that the medical side is the main one, but that the psychological side also plays a very strong role. Cancer cells are very much related to stress, to what we think and experience inside our bodies. Life is very beautiful, we have children, we have a family. I sometimes say 'every day as if it were the last day'. I am very well now, I am waiting for my hair to grow, for me to return to that old Stella. Nothing is certain in this life.

Bieta: How was your relationship with the doctor?

Stela: I get along very well with the doctors, they enjoy it when I go. I make them be positive, so that they talk in that way. We have a very good relationship.
