Former gang leader Duane "Keefe D" Davis, accused of killing Tupac Shakur, claimed that rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs paid him $1 million to carry out the murder. Davis implicated Combs during a 2009 interview with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
Bad Boy Records executive Combs allegedly offered money to a drug dealer to kill Shakur. Davis also said that Martin, the alleged killer, made a fortune after the murder.
A 2003 lawsuit by a former president of Combs' company claimed Combs hired Shakur's attacker, but the suit was dismissed. Greg Kading, a former LAPD detective, claimed in his book "Murder Rap" that Combs ordered Shakur's murder.
Davis previously said his nephew Orlando Anderson was the person who shot into Shakur's car near the intersection of Flamingo Street and Koval Lane in 1996. Knight, the founder of Death Row Records, was driving with Shakur inside at the time. Combs has never been criminally charged in the case.
Combs is facing other legal issues for sexual misconduct and allegations of sex trafficking, money laundering and illegal drugs. Davis is the only person charged in connection with Shakur's death. He has pleaded not guilty, with his attorney arguing that Davis lied about his involvement in the shooting in interviews for fame and money.
