FIFA President Gianni Infantino revealed on Monday the number of ticket requests that have been registered so far for the 2026 World Cup matches, stating that they are already enough to represent the equivalent of "300 World Cups".
" In just 15 days, we have received 150 million requests from around the world to purchase tickets for the World Cup," the FIFA president announced, dismissing criticism of high ticket prices, with tickets for the final ranging from 3,500 to 7,400 euros, while Portugal's matches are among the most expensive in the group stage .
"Despite the publications you may have read about the prices, these are the real numbers. During the first 15 days, we recorded an average of 10 million orders per day, with the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom topping the list of requests. We could have covered the equivalent of 300 years of World Cups ," Infantino explained.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Marca", this World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026, is expected to set a record in ticket sales, with a figure that could reach between 50 and 60 million tickets.
