Famous boxer Anthony Joshua was injured in a car accident in Nigeria, in which two other people died.
Footage, still unverified on social media, shows injured British boxer Joshua trying to escape a car accident in Nigeria.
Two people are said to have died in the accident. The former British world heavyweight champion is seen sitting in the back seat of a vehicle that has been involved in a serious collision.
Joshua, who is conscious in the footage, is seen writhing in pain before being helped out of the crashed vehicle.
The accident is understood to have occurred at around 11:00am local time on Monday, along a busy stretch of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. A preliminary report said Joshua suffered minor injuries and two people were killed.
According to local police, Joshua was in a Lexus SUV when he hit a stopped truck. He was among four passengers in the vehicle, while his security followed in another car. Joshua and those injured in the accident were taken to the hospital.
An eyewitness told Punch newspaper: “It was a convoy of two vehicles: a Lexus SUV and a Pajero SUV. Joshua was sitting behind the driver, with another person next to him. There was also a passenger sitting next to the driver, bringing the number to 4 people in the Lexus that crashed. His safety was in the vehicle behind them before the accident.”
Footage showed a shirtless Joshua looking confused at the scene, appearing to be in pain. Further footage showed two bodies strewn across a street.
