Albania has closed its competition in the 2024 Balkan Boxing Championship, a competition held in Loznica, Serbia.
The red and black representative in this activity was formed by nine boxers, who competed in the categories for adults (2), for young people (2) and for juniors (5).
Alban Beqiri scored another great result, being declared champion of the Balkans for the second time in his career, triumphing in the 71 kg weight category.
Beqiri, who also holds the highest international score in the history of Albanian boxing, as the only medalist in a world for adults, showed an excellent form by winning three duels in the Balkan, to be declared champion.
The 30-year-old Red and Black successfully passed the first match, defeating the Serbian opponent Igor Rogič, then followed with a victory and premature closure against the Albanian boxer of North Macedonia, Anis Aliu.
Further in the final, he found the Ukrainian Matiakubov, world runner-up and European champion. Beqiri closed the accounts in the second round, deserving the gold medal, to raise the flag of Albania to the highest step of the podium.
