Two of the matches of week 30 in the Premier League have been completed, which have also produced some surprise results.
At the Emirates Stadium, leaders Arsenal secured a 2-0 victory over Everton. The first half was better for the visitors, who created at least three good scoring chances. The most dangerous chance came from Dwight McNeil, but his shot was blocked by the left post.
The second half of the game was played at a slower pace and there were few scoring opportunities. The breakthrough came only in the 89th minute: after a cross from Max Douman into the area and a miscue from goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Viktor Giokeres took advantage by sending the ball into the net. In the last minute of extra time, Douman himself scored the second goal, sealing the 2-0 victory for the Londoners.
With this success, Arsenal leads the standings with 70 points, 10 more than second-place Manchester City, who have two games in hand and are expected to play away to West Ham.
Meanwhile, at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea were defeated 0-1 by Newcastle. The visitors took the lead in the 8th minute, when after a long ball from Livramento from the defense to Joe Willock, the latter assisted Anthony Gordon, who scored the only goal of the match.
The first half ended with Newcastle ahead and, despite Chelsea's efforts in the second half, the score remained unchanged.
After this match, Chelsea holds fifth place with 48 points, while Newcastle ranks ninth in the Premier League standings.
