Napoli has recorded its third consecutive victory in Serie A, after defeating Lecce 2-1 at the "Diego Armando Maradona" stadium, in the match valid for the 29th week of the Italian championship.
The match started surprisingly for the home team, as Lecce took the lead very quickly. In the 3rd minute, German defender Jamil Zibert headed home a corner kick, taking advantage of Antonino Galo's cross and beating the Napoli defense. The first half ended with the visitors' minimal lead, 0-1.
In the second half, Napoli reacted immediately and managed to equalize the score. After a quick move and an assist from Mateo Politano, striker Rasmus Hojlund sent the ball into the net, restoring the balance in the match.
The Neapolitans' turnaround was completed in the 66th minute. This time it was Politano himself who scored, finishing with his left foot inside the area after a corner kick.
A few minutes after the goal, the protagonist of the match, Mateo Politano, suffered an injury and was replaced by Miguel Gutierrez. Until the end of the match, the score remained unchanged.
With this victory, Napoli climbs to 59 points and holds third place in the standings, just one point behind second-placed Milan. Meanwhile, there is an eight-point gap over their closest rivals, Como and Roma, who have yet to play their matches in the 29th week.
