Rebeka Pasler will return to competition at the Winter Olympics after the Italian Anti-Doping Agency's Court of Appeal accepted her appeal against an earlier suspension.
The biathlete was suspended after a doping test on January 26, in which she tested positive for the substance letrozole. In its decision, the Court of Appeal accepted the possibility that the substance was taken unintentionally or as a result of contamination, paving the way for her return to competition.
This development allows Pasler to participate in the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. She will join the team starting February 16, the date when she will be available to the technical staff for the upcoming competitions in the most important winter sports competition.
The Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) welcomed the decision. Its president, Flavio Roda, stated that the federation considers the Appeals Chamber's decision to allow the athlete to return to the team as positive.
Pasler himself also reacted after the decision, emphasizing that he has been through difficult days.
" They were very difficult days. I have always believed in my own good faith. I thank everyone who has helped me, from the lawyers who followed my situation, to the Italian Winter Sports Federation, as well as family and friends. Now I can finally return and focus fully on biathlon ," she said.
The Appeals Court's decision temporarily closes the disciplinary case against the athlete, paving the way for her return to international competitions.
