Igor Tudor could soon be back on the bench. After leaving Juventus in October last year, the Croatian coach has been touted as one of the candidates to take over at Tottenham.
The London club is going through a difficult period in terms of results. Just a few days ago, the directors decided to end their cooperation with coach Thomas Frank, thus paving the way for a new change on the bench.
First contacts
According to journalist Matteo Moreto, Tottenham have begun contacts with Tudor to assess the possibility of a deal. Around three months ago, the Croatian coach terminated his contract with Juventus, which was valid until 2027, leaving him free to sign with any club, especially outside Italy.
So far, there has been no official confirmation of the talks from the English club.
A new challenge in England
If the deal goes through, it would be Tudor's first foray into the Premier League. During his coaching career, he has managed several Serie A teams, including Udinese, Verona, Lazio and Juventus. Outside Italy, his best-known experience remains with Olympique Marseille in France.
A move to Tottenham would reunite Tudor with Kolo Muani, with whom he collaborated in the second half of the season at Juventus.
Tottenham's situation
The challenge that awaits the Croatian coach will not be easy. Tottenham are currently ranked 16th, while the climate around the team and the club is considered tense due to disappointing results.
It remains to be seen whether contacts between the parties will lead to a concrete agreement and a new chapter for Tudor in English football.
