Armando Broja has been one of Chelsea's absences in the Blues' tour of the USA this summer. The striker was left out of the group that traveled across the Atlantic, as he is still not in top form following the injury he suffered at the end of last year which required him to undergo surgery.
Beyond the progress he has made by returning to training sooner than expected, according to "The Evening Standard", the medical staff of the London Blues is the one who has stopped the activation of the footballer with the team under the orders of Mauricio Pochettino. The fear of Broja being injured again in the friendly, as it actually happened in December, has made him stay in London and train alone.
However, the English media report that Broja is desperate to play in Chelsea's last friendly before the start of the league in August. The London Blues close their pre-season with a game against Borussia Dortmund on August 3 in Chicago and the player has expressed his desire to be present for the game.
It remains to be seen if Pochettino will consider this request of the footballer, but this will be his last opportunity to show his values in a friendly match, as the championship starts later and it will be impossible for him to find spaces that a football player returning from injury needs.
