Everton have loaned Chelsea striker Armando Broja. The agreement was reached for the 2024-2025 season as a first step. It includes the option to make the move permanent next summer for a fee of £30m.
Everton had until 1am to complete the transfer after submitting a deal sheet before the 11pm deadline.
The Albanian attacker is expected to be absent until mid-October due to a leg injury. The deal is understood to be financially beneficial for Everton, until Broja is back to full fitness.
Chelsea will continue to pay Armando Broja's wages until the striker is ready to play. At that moment, the salary of the Albanian will be covered by Everton, which does not pay a penny of the loan and simply has the right to buy 30 million pounds at the end of the season.
Broja suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in December 2022, which kept him out until September of the following year. The Albanian then joined Fulham in the January transfer window, but his playing time at Craven Cottage was limited, making just 8 appearances and failing to score.
It seems strange that Armando Broja has been included in the National Team's list for the two September challenges against Ukraine on September 7 and Georgia on September 10.
