Cristiano Ronaldo continues to top the list of the world's highest-paid athletes, according to Forbes.
The Portuguese footballer ranks first for the fourth consecutive year, with total earnings of $300 million. The amount includes earnings before taxes and commissions.
Of this figure, $235 million comes from his contract with Al Nassr, while $65 million is related to sponsorships, commercial agreements, image rights and business activities.
With this result, Ronaldo equals Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s record from 2015 and joins Michael Jordan with six Forbes top spots. Only Tiger Woods is ahead of him, with 11.
This year's top ten have a combined income of $1.4 billion. Football retains its leading role on the list, with Lionel Messi in third place and Karim Benzema in eighth place.
With a historic haul, 41-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo leads a group of seasoned sports superstars who collectively earned $1.4 billion over the past 12 months.
