Roma beat Lazio 1-0 to win the derby della Capitale, the fourth round of Serie A.
Lazio had a better start, but it was the Giallorossi who took the lead in the 38th minute through Lorenzo Pellegrini, a surprise choice by Gasperini who had remained at Roma after a long transfer.
In the second half, the Biancocelesti tried and came close to scoring on several occasions.
First, Dia missed an equalizer, shooting high, all alone in front of Svilar. Then, Castellanos missed another chance as he curled a shot into the penalty area.
With today's victory, Roma moves to 9 points. Lazio finds itself in trouble, as it has only 3 points in 4 matches, winning only one.
The match started with duels in midfield and limited space for both teams. In the 15th minute, Dele-Bashiru suffers a muscle problem and Belahyane comes on in his place. The first shot goes to Lazio. Pedro tries from the edge of the area, but the ball goes over the crossbar. The Biancocelesti are more proactive. Nuno Tavares makes a run to the left, attempting another shot from distance. Again, the ball is out. Sarri's team begins to find confidence.
In the 29th minute, Zaccagni turns and shoots with his right foot. Svilar deflects the ball into a corner kick. From the corner, Romagnoli rises above everyone else, but fails to score. Lazio is on the horizon again. Rovella finds a gap in the Giallorossi's defense and crosses. Dia arrives a moment later. With the first chance, Roma takes the lead. A naive mistake by Tavares, Rensch "steals" the ball, finding Soulén. The Argentine passes the ball to Pellegrini, who scores with a corner kick, past Provedel. After the goal, Roma is full of energy.
The first half ended with Roma leading 1-0. Sarri immediately made two substitutions. Cataldi and Luca Pellegrini came on for Rovella and Nuno Tavares. Roma immediately looked like they were going to attack. Lorenzo Pellegrini passed the ball to Angelino, who controlled the ball and took a first-time shot. The ball went wide, giving the illusion of a goal. In the 54th minute, Lazio had a great chance. Cataldi passed the ball to Dia, who broke through the Giallorossi defense, surprising them. The Senegalese came up one-on-one with Svilar and fired high.

In extra time, Lazio came close to equalizing again.
