After two consecutive losses, Dortmund returns to winning ways in the championship. The Yellow and Blacks have defeated Mainz 3-1 at “Signal Iduna Park”, a match valid for the 27th week of the Bundesliga.
Maksimilian Beier opened the scoring in the 38th minute after an assist from Adejemi. Emre Çn headed the second goal in the 42nd minute after a cross from Schloterbek.
Beier scored his second goal and Dortmund's third in the 70th minute. The 22-year-old striker headed home a cross from a corner kick by the usual Schlotterbeck. The visitors scored a consolation goal through Paul Nebel in the 76th minute.
After this victory, Dortmund is ranked 10th with 38 points, 4 points behind the sixth place, which qualifies for the Conference League and is currently held by Leipzig. Despite today's loss, Mainz remains in fourth place, a place that qualifies for the Champions League.
On the other hand, Union Berlin also celebrated on the road, after defeating Freiburg 1-2.
