It seems that no one is ready to take charge of the Serbian national team after the shocking result against Albania that led to the dismissal of Dragan Stojkovic. The Serbian Federation has reportedly contacted various names, but none have shown willingness to take charge of the team, especially to close the World Cup qualifiers where the Serbs follow Albania in the standings and risk being left out of the action.
The latest to reject the opportunity is Dejan Stankovic, who is currently the coach of Spartak Moscow in Russia. He admitted this in an interview with "Kurir" in Serbia.
" My dream is to lead Serbia in front of 50,000 people at the Maracana, but it's still too early for that ," said Stankovic.
" First of all, it is logical that I would be mentioned in the media when talking about that position, since I am a coach, right? However, I currently do not see myself as a coach of the national team, it is too early for that position. Every Serbian coach dreams of it, including me. One day, I will definitely experience this, but for now I have a contract with the club ," were the words of Stankovic.
