Elseid Hysaj has ended his adventure with Lazio in Serie A after five seasons in the Italian capital. The Albanian national team defender confirmed his departure from the white and blue team through an emotional message on social media, thanking the club, teammates and fans for their support over the years.
In his reaction, Hysaj emphasized that the period at Lazio has been filled with emotions, beautiful moments and challenges, while underlining that he has given his maximum with professionalism until the last day. The Albanian footballer reserved a special thank you for the Lazio fans, adding that Rome will always remain an important part of his life and his family.
"After 5 years with this jersey, the moment has come to say goodbye. They have been intense years, full of emotions, very beautiful moments and others more difficult, but I have always given everything with professionalism and respect until the last day. I want to thank my teammates, a true group, made up of extraordinary guys with whom I have shared many moments on and off the field.
A special thank you to all the Lazio fans, your warmth, passion and support have been so strong and will remain with me forever. Roma will always be an important part of my life and my family and I will always be grateful to you.
"I wish you all the best and hope that LAZIO RETURNS TO WHERE IT DESERVES TO BE. Thank you for everything, FORCA LAZIO ALWAYS ," Hysaj wrote in his farewell message.
It now remains to be seen what the next destination in the career of the red and black defender will be, who is expected to arouse the interest of several clubs in the transfer market. In the last season, the 32-year-old has collected only 170 minutes of play after being activated in five matches.
