Egnatia has taken another important victory in the “Final Four” phase, defeating Vllaznia with a score of 2-1 at the “Air Albania” stadium. After the 4-0 triumph over Elbasan in the first week, the Rrogozhina team takes a big step towards being declared champion.
The match started at a high pace and in the 30th minute Egnatia claimed a penalty after Ildi Gruda was brought down in the Vllaznia area. However, the main referee considered it a simulation and punished the player with a yellow card.
The Rrogozhina team took the lead in the 39th minute. After a cross from Altin Kryeziu, Eljo Sota headed the ball into the net for 1-0. With this result, the first half ended.
In the second half, Egnatia had the opportunity to close the game in the 73rd minute. Bakayoko took advantage of a mistake in the Vllaznia defense and found himself in front of goalkeeper Pohls, but failed to convert.
Four minutes later, Vllaznia restored the balance. Initially, Valentino Murataj hit the post, while Klint Qato took advantage of the opportunity and scored with a header for 1-1.
When it seemed that the match would end in a draw, Egnatia found the winning goal in the 88th minute. Abdurraman Fangaj crossed accurately into the area and Daniel Adjesa headed in, sealing the 2-1 victory for the Tetovo team.
Immediately after the goal, tension erupted between the staff of both teams, leading to clashes on the benches. The referee punished the two captains, Albano Aleksi and Erdenis Gurishte, with red cards, the latter being on the bench.
With this victory, Egnatia is significantly closer to the championship title. A draw in the third match against Elbasan may be enough for Rrogozhina, if the yellow-blue team manages to win against Dinamo in the next match.
