Albanian national team striker Ernest Muçi has returned to the pitch with Trabzonspor after a period of absence due to injury. The match against Samsunspor marked his first official appearance since March's challenges with the national team.
Muçi came close to a spectacular goal in the 92nd minute, when he tried from the penalty spot, but failed to finish. However, he proved accurate and calm in the penalty shootout, scoring the decisive shot that gave Trabzonspor qualification to the semi-finals of the Turkish Cup.
After the match ended, the Albanian player stopped by the media, where he emphasized the difficulty of the challenge and the importance of the success achieved.
" We knew it would be a very difficult match. At this stage, every match is like that and we faced a quality team. It's not easy to play here, but I'm very happy for the team, " said Muçi.
He also spoke about the difficult period he went through due to the injury, emphasizing that the recovery has been gradual.
" I had an injury and for a week or two I couldn't walk. It was a difficult period, but now I'm feeling better every day. My minutes on the pitch are gradually increasing and I aim to help the team more after full recovery ," added the striker.
Qualifying for the semifinals is seen as an important step for Trabzonspor, while the next objective remains reaching the final.
